Thirty Days

Well, I guess in my last blog post I basically spilled all of my guts about how I felt living here in BC... so there really isn't a whole lot to discuss about my 30-day milestone mark. Yes that's right - it's been an entire month since I've gone, which for me is extremely hard to believe. Time has flown by so fast ever since I got here and it feels like a new week is beginning all of the time. I mean come on, it's Friday already! (Well technically, it's only Friday for you in Winnipeg... it's just 10:34 pm here.) I feel like this whole thing has been a constant whirlwind since it began and time has ceased to exist in the past several months. I can still remember standing in the storage room of Polo Park back in September, figuring out how I was going to tell Grace that I was leaving. Seems like it was just yesterday. Yeesh, I sound like an old granny when I use expressions like that.

To be honest when I'm talking about myself on this blog nearly every day (okay to be fair, every few days if lucky) there comes a point when there's just absolutely nothing to share. Let's face it, it's not like I'm living in an episode of FRIENDS where something interesting just happens to occur each day of the week. I think my life would be quite dull as a sitcom... well perhaps just my character storyline. My life is kind of the comic relief.

Hmm... let's see here. Let's give you a few updates... I'm picking my nose.... I just scratched my cheek... my FACE cheek, NOT my butt cheek. I don't know. I really wish I had more to say. Maybe I should start reading that damn paper thing that keeps showing up on my doorstep... it seems like it has some interesting current events in it every once in a while, then maybe I can start talking about some of those things. If you REALLY want to know, I washed my bed comforter today. It tore in some areas. It was a bummer, but I think I'll get over it. OH WAIT! I just remembered something I could share with you. Tonight was the first night that I made dinner for the family. Isn't that amazing?! Me, behind a spatula. Absolutely mind-blowing, I know. Settle yourselves down please. I don't want you to start riots or anything. Oh, I guess that's just Vancouver.

Yes it has been exactly one month and I finally stepped up to the plate (no pun intended) and offered to make us a feast. So what was on the menu, you ask? Well it definitely wasn't Mac n' Cheese by any means...

IT WAS FROZEN, OVEN-READY PIZZA!

What was really shocking was that it turned out brilliantly - there was no burnt crust at all. Just a master at pizza, I am. And I have to say, everyone really enjoyed it too. It wasn't just delicious... it was Delissio!

Sorry, had to stick that one in there.

We finally got word today that we'll be getting our mail key soon though (I know, I'm just a newsbox today) which means I'll FINALLY have access to my mail that I've been waiting for for 30 days. I have a Jack Johnson biography sitting in there that I'm itching to get at... Our landlady should be delivering it within the next day or two. There is a downside as to WHY she is coming over however... we do have a leaking ceiling. We had our washing machine going tonight and when we came downstairs there was a giant pool of water on our hardwood floors. The ceiling was literally bursting at the seams with water.. it was dripping all over the place! Thankfully with a new townhouse like ours, it comes with a warranty... we won't have to pay a dime but we will have to get our ceiling ripped apart and get our pipes fixed probably. Which only means we're going to have a bunch of Italian plumber guys walking around in our living room. Nothing wrong with that I guess, it's just that the whole process is a bit of a pain in the butt. Or should I say, PLUMBERS BUTT! LOL!

Well I guess this is a good time to end it this blog... it's been a little goofy tonight thanks to my boredom so I'll let you all be free and get on with the rest of your days. (or nights, depending on when you read this thing.)

I will say what I always say though - I miss you very much and hope you're all doing great. :)
