Hello-ween

Well, it's that time of year again - a day of candy, treats and tricks. Who am I, Martha Stewart? This is the most boring introduction of all time. Everyone knows it's Halloween if you live in Canada and not underneath a rock. (Or pumpkin.)

Today isn't a scary day for me because it's Halloween... it's a scary day because it's my last day as a fellow Manitoban. Manitobian. Manitoba-in? I don't know. Anyways, I'm scared right out of my socks, and I'm embarking on my wildest adventure yet, tomorrow at 6 AM. Waking up early isn't why I'm so scared, although that does have a lot to do with it... but I'm leaving Winnipeg and heading off to test the waters in Kelowna, BC. No, I won't literally be testing the waters. I've heard only horrifying stories about their Okanagan Swamp monster, Ogopogo. Although, I'm not too sure how a monster named "Ogopogo" can be scary. Sounds like like the name of a milkshake or something.

Anyway, tomorrow is the big day. I can't believe it was only 20 years ago that I was dressed up like Simba for Halloween and paraded around asking for candy. Well, here I am. 20 years later, and instead of trick or treating, I'm packing up and getting ready to move across the country.

Yes, I would definitely say that this is more scary than Halloween will ever be. But at the same time, I'm very excited to start my own journey.

In other news, Shea got a baby kitten last night - Phoebe. I tried taking a picture of this little trouble maker however she is quite the active type so it was difficult to get one that was worth posting. She's a Siamese-cross-pain in the ass. She peed in my bed this morning. But her tiny "meow" apology seemed to make up for it. I gotta say, she is one cute little bugger.

So long for now. I'm off to pack! Tomorrow shall be the start of my new adventure. Keep checking back as I will continue to update this blog (hopefully daily) so you can watch me succeed, trip, or fall on my face. We'll find out together.
